A look back at the Methow

Here I am back in February.  I'm not a very good blogger but I want to make sure I share pics with relevant people.  This one's for you Kathleen.

Mr man is 2!

I can't believe it. It's hard to even write it. Felix is 2!  And he is really 2. The whole household was excited about his birthday.  Every time someone would say something about being 2, his response was "I not 2!".

He is energetic and so joyful despite all the no's. He is always game for going anywhere and doing anything. He is a pack animal.   He is really motivated to be with the older kids and he is keeping a great pace!  He is amazing! And seriously growing up way too fast!

New wheels

We're pretty excited about our new wheels. I am wondering if we are actually suffering from a bike addiction.  I was giddy for a week after we ordered the bike waiting for it to be done. 

The kids can actually all sit on the rear platform as pictured but that's a little tight so we use a number of different arrangements.  Thankfully,  lucia is biking in her own quite a bit. The cool thing is if she gets tired we can throw her on AND hook her front wheel onto the rack.  We also sometimes pull a chariot behind the bike. 

It's super fun and out commuting miles have increased as well as our fitness!  I am thankful for the super low gears but I think an electric assist is in our future before fall when our activities get ramped up again.

Mudslinger

Scott is very excited to be doing a little bike racing lately. Last weekend he did the mudslinger and there was definitely no lack of mud. In fact it was hard to recognize people because everyone was brown. Our crew were a nice little cheering section .

Homeschoolers

We have met a couple of other families with similar age kids who are also homeschooling which has been great. Last week we went for a hike at Finley wildlife refuge. Super beautiful and fun. Woodpecker loop.

A touch of skiing

It's been terrible fog in the valley. We went to the cascades and it was 50 and sunny with no wind.  This is unheard of for Mt bachelor. We got a little lift skiing practice. First lucia then oscar

Felix says 'no!'

This boy was the mellowest baby. No more. He is on the go. Confident. Stubborn. Ready to go on an adventure anytime. He frequently brings me his shoes and sometimes even manages to get them on with little to no help and immediately bolts for the door. He is ready to play with anyone who will play with him. He is still mostly happy but man, can he tear a place up in no time flat.

Oscar brought this to me the other day and told me he drew a picture if Liam. Cracked me up with b the hair.

Oscar turns 4

Little man. He is 4. He is enthusiastic and stubborn. So playful and affectionate. He has the most amazing laugh. I love how he sings really loud even in big crowd. He is an energetic little brother while being a loving big brother. Those are hard shoes. Feel so fortunate to have shared 4 full years with him. Loving every day.
