Corvallis half marathon

Corvallis had its first half marathon and it was a shining success!  I barely got the training in and still suffered the last couple of miles.  Scott toted the kids around the course in the bike trailer which was super cute.  The finish line was at the football field and we told Lucia ahead of time that maybe she could cross the finish line with me.  I saw them at about mile 10 where she gave me a bite of muffin and then when I took off running, she freaked out cause she said she wanted to run with me.  Scott had to explain to her that it wasn't the finish line yet!

She was so excited.  Now she wants to run with me all the time, which is a plus.  We usually try to end at the park or she'll get out and run beside me for a little while.  Tonite I took her for a run and she said, "mom, when I'm bigger, I'm going to get some running clothes."  She is a hoot!

Siblings

Lucia and Oscar are definitely starting to act more like siblings and it's a really awesome thing to be a part of.  They have their ups and downs but overally, they get along beautifully.  Lucia is amazing big sister with her nurturing and wonderful ability to express love.  She is playful with him and makes him laugh at the drop of a hat.  Oscar adores his big sister and his joyful, lifeloving spirit brings out joy in all of his.  Lucia told him she loved him for the first time the other day.  We love seeing them grow together!

Corvallis simplicity

Most days, we can walk or bike anywhere in Corvallis.  We are very fortunate to have a lifestyle that results in less rush and more time in the present.  This is a picture of Lucia walking home from preschool.  It's just a few streets away.  Also, just a few blocks away is the neighborhood park, the co-op, and friends.  Life is really, really good....
