Visit to Seattle and First Haircut!

We finally made it back to Seattle and we sadly hadn't been in over a year and a half.  Oscar's first trip.  We got to see the McSpeert's new house and hang out with them and their lovely baby, Elizabeth.  We miss them and wish we could be together more often.  Baby dolls and books were a big part of the entertainment.
We went to the Seattle Zoo where we got to ride the 'up-down' (i.e. carousel).  Lucia kept saying that she rode on at the Oregon country fair. Well, it was the oregon county fair, two very different experiences!
Lucia also got her first haircut.  It was a pretty hysterical experience.  At some point I looked around and realized that there I was standing beside her while she sat in a play car playing with toy ponies in this super g-ed up toy store.  Scott was beside me with the camera holding Oscar.  Jeff, Kathleen, and Elizabeth were there. It was like Lucia's birth.  Too funny.  Lucia was in the 'zone' with the play ponies and the nice lady was able to give her a beautiful braid that I really want to do on my own hair and on hers again soon!  Here is LUCIA in her 'zone'.
Fun times!  We love our dear friends, the McSpeert's!

Taking advantage of imitation

Oscar is the messiest eater.  He throws things and shares lots of his meals with the dogs.  The total opposite of Lucia.  He is however, a great imitator and he loves to do things, already.  So after a messy meal yesterday, I gave him and Lucia some rags and let them go at it.

We also let him sweep although it's not as effective as scrubbing the floor.  He is a very helpful little dude.

Sewing

Well, I've started sewing and it's a lot harder than I thought. I've made a couple of things and its has taken me forever but I'm having a good time. This is the latest, a corduroy dress for Lucia. I had to unexpectedly put a zipper. It took both Scott and I a couple of hours. He had to help me with construction because I just don't have a brain for it. But here it is. I'm pretty proud of it. Now on to the next project.....trying to make something cute for Oscar.
