Three years ago, we visited Mexico with good friends and have been talking about going back every since. This year, we struggled.....we're pregnant with our 3rd and have a shitload of work to do on the house vs. go to Mexico cause we might not be able to do this next year or two. Well, pretty much we opted for Mexico, kind of not surprising, ha ha.
Anyway, last time we went to Sayulita (Pacific coast, popular surfing destination but still pretty low key). This time, we went for even more low key and smaller, but very close to Sayulita, a town called San Pancho, about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta. We ended up getting a great deal on flights to Puerto Vallarta and found a great house that was perfect for us and just a short walk to the beach, with a little 'plunge pool'. It was ridiculously lovely.
The kids we stoked and they still pretend to go to Mexico many times a week.
We stayed in a small house that was adjacent to a larger house that had several bedrooms with king size beds and a large pool. No one was in the big house for the first half of the week. This is a view of the larger house. La Casa Que Canta
We stayed in the smaller house, 2 bedroom, called Casita Celestial. We were on a hillside surrounded by beautiful gardens and jungle. There were lots of stairs!
The beach was a very short walk, no problem even for little legs. There were even some shady spots and coconut trees.
Of course, Oscar had to go up and down the stairs by himself to keep up with the rest of us.
We hung out A LOT. This is the plunge pool. We had very few toys. The kids played together beautifully.
Of course, it was my last opportunity to wear a bikini, or at least I think it is. I can't imagine what my belly will look like after 3 babies!
We took advantage of the hammock.
And of course, we sometimes acted like we were 2, because some of us are!
At least screaming in the jungle doesn't disturb too many humans!
We had a blast, though. I think we'll have to find a way to go back next winter.
