First outdoor market and earth day!

Everyone was pretty excited about the market and Earth day.  When we went to the market the following week, Oscar said, 'for earth day?'.

Gnome garden

We went to a presentation at Garland's Nursery on miniature gardening and got inspired.  Scott was particular excited because creating a miniature garden was a fast and rewarding project, unlike anything else we have going on here at our house!

One of those gnomes is playing the fiddle and the other one is doing a handstand, I think.  The kids frequently go out there and check and see if they think any real gnomes or fairies have come to visit their garden.

Rainbows

Lucia and Oscar were drawing rainbows.

We drew the rainbows with oil pastels trying to get all the colors in the right order and then we colored over it with blue watercolor for the sky.  The water color should leave the oil pastels as is.  They turned out well and I love the contrast between the rainbows drawn by the 5 year old brain compared to the 3 year old brain.

A few weeks ago I was really sick and in bed for most of the day.  Sometime in the afternoon in a fog I got up and walked outside to see what the crew was up to.  They were all working hard.

Sunriver Extravaganza

We got to go to Sunriver with some great friends and talk about the kids having a blast!  It was nonstop fun.  They skied (I don't have any pics of that) at Bachelor and we went to the High Desert Museum which was beyond fun.

Visit from Ashley--- always a hit!

We got a visit from Ashley!  The kids are always talking about her.  I didn't get enough pics but they had a blast hanging out with her.

Ashley is a pretty good sport about playing hide and seek for hours and hours too.

2nd Annual Methow Valley trip with famous McSpeert's-- February 2013

We did it again.  We made it to the Methow Valley.  Here's us last year. A little bit pregnant and pulling 2 kids in the chariot.

This year was much different.  Both Oscar and Lucia skied and we used the chariot when the little legs could go no more.  Felix was mostly in the ergo getting his first taste of what the future will hold.  The McSpeert's added on another little bundle as well (Henry).
We were quite the caravan.

The kids had a blast out of the snow too. I love this picture because it shows Oscar sneaking in a hand holding with Henry.

MMMM. MMMM.  Sweet times.  We have a placed booked for next year.  Can't wait!

Sweet Lucia turns 5!

Five is a big deal!  This is Lucia at about 5 months of age.

The last year was pretty full of life experiences and new skills.  Kind of crazy to think about it.  Shortly after turning 4, she learned to skip and now she spends much of her day doing just that.  Skipping here, skipping there.  Shortly after that, she learned to ride a pedal bike and she is still going strong with that.  She started learning an instrument (violin/fiddle).  She loves hanging out with her buddies and her brothers.  She is quite the little mama.  She learned to finger and loom knit and is just now starting with the knitting needles.  She told me one day that she was going to be a knitter when she grows up but she was only going to work on one project at a time.  Smart girl! It is hard to keep the girl busy!  Here she is on her birthday.

We celebrated with gelato on her actual birthday and with a few friends over for games, cake and pinata a few days later.  We did a pull string pinata where there was a door that opened the pinata up if the right string was pulled.

Now she's onto swimming, handstands, cartwheels, more violin, more knitting and who knows what else!  She is becoming an awesome adventurer!
